State of the Union - Week of 9/25
Coach KW’s Report:
While the coaches were encouraged by great practices Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and the fact that we played our best game in terms of execution and matching the physicality of our opponent the result was tough loss at homecoming. There is still much room for improvement in execution and more importantly not letting things beyond our control impact our effort level. We are eager to return to work and find our first winning effort of the season.
This is our first away game for awhile now, so we wanted to supply some reminders: players will have less time to get food and be back at the locker rooms before the game on Friday. Especially, with the early start (Roosevelt scheduled us for Homecoming). We also have adjusted our schedule to help end on time and make sure we don’t disrupt soccer schedules. Instead of doing Study Hall after practice on Tuesday we will have all players check in during Tutorial Time to insure they maximize this studying opportunity. Obviously, if your student-athlete needs to visit another class they will be encouraged to do so, once they have checked in. Our plan is to provide more structure to this time, so we can get players home sooner while maintaining our standards of academic excellence.
